What sealant(s) to use for top cap/ hull reassembly?

Hi, I am soon to be putting the top cap back on my 2002 Larson 21 foot OB model after pouring the Arjay transom. Originally, the top cap/hull joints contact points in the bow floor area and splashwell to transom area had a rock hard type sealant that had to cut/chiseled when I separated the cap. The sealant in those areas was really hard. Then the area at the rub rail joint all the way around the boat had a flexible sealant which I assume is 3M 4200?

Should I use 3M 5200 in the splashwell/transom and bow floor areas, and then 3M 4200 around the rubrail? Do I need something that is going to form a solid mechanical bond on the transom cap and bow? Please let me know if I need to order 2 different types of sealant, or if one would work in both areas?

Thanks for your help and suggestions!

I see no reason that the 4200 won't work all the way around.

Use a quality 'sealant' to seal stuff. Use 5200 when you want to glue stuff, and then when you never expect to take it apart ...
