2006 Tohatsu 115hp

I just got this engine and it overheated. I made a mistake when looking for the thermostats and pullted this part out, and a bunch of springs/washers came out with it. Any idea what it is so I can find a diagram on how to put it back together?

Also, any reccomendations on where to find the thermostats/poppit valve, and anything I should look out for when changing the impeller on this engine?

Year is irrelevant; Assuming your model is MD115A. That would be a 4-cylinder TLDI.
Clearly you need someone more knowledgeable to assist you before you break anything else.

Sheesh. You disassembled a 3T1040000M fuel pump. While possible to reassemble, you must have all the parts, as well as dexterity and patience. In addition, the original pumps are NLA. However, there is a solution. You need two new fuel pumps:
356040001MFUEL PUMP ASSY.$88.53

In Service bulletin 10-09, the new parts list is as follows. You will need these items in addition to the two redesigned pumps:

Gasket 346-04901-1, qty 2
Bolt 910103-5620 910103-6640, qty 4
Fuel Pump Bracket 3T1-04100-0, qty 2
Bolt 910103-5620, qty 4
Hose 98AB-70-070 98AB-70-270, qty 1
Hose 98AB-50-180 98AB-50-140, qty 1
Hose 98AB-50-050 98AB-50-110, qty 1
Hose 98AB-50-090 98AB-50-070, qty 1
Hose 98AB-50-115 98AB-50-110, qty 1
Hose 98AB-50-150 98AB-50-140, qty 2
Clamp - 3T1-06917-0, qty 1

The thermostat is item 6 in the following diagram:

Why do you think you overheated? These stats seldom fail. In fact, I have never replaced one. Always check with a cheap IR thermometer (from your local hardware store).

Never replace just an impeller. Always do the complete wp kit. Same labor; Pumps better and lasts longer.
Part #: 3C7873222M
List Price (MSRP): $109.20

Paul - Thank you very much for the response! I was able to get the fuel pump back together and running - I am not quite as incompetant as my post would indicate but after my issues and a very long couple days I made a stupid decision with a motor I am not familiar with. Definitely will not do that in the future.

I am going to sell this motor and buy another Evinrude Ocean Pro, so I have something that albiet will be more of a gas guzzler, but something I am familiar with and can work on. Probably not as good of a motor, but at least I'll know what I'm looking at.

When I took the thermostat out it was in 3 pieces and looks like it has never been changed. I am dropping the lower unit now as it still seems to be getting hotter than it should be which would make me think it's the impeller. It took quite a while for it to actually overheat - made it about 20 miles before having an issue which is why I initially thought the thermostat was the issue. Do you know if these 115s have a poppit valve in addition to the thermostat?

No poppet valve. Install a complete water pump kit -- not just the impeller. Pumps better and lasts longer. If this has been in salt a lot, it may just have hardening of the arteries in the passages. That would call for salt-away or vinegar and a lot of time and patience.
