I have been given a "Evenrude propellor" that has these numbers cast into the centre of the hub 48-79572-17 but I do not see any makings that tie it up to Evenrude. The propellor fitted to my 225 Rude is a 14 1/4 x 21 pitch,
the propellor given to me is bigger in dia. and just fits under the cavitation plate ( about 3/4 inch clearance by measurement, I have not fitted the prop yet) I wonder what type of prop this is and is it a Evenrude prop?

I came up with the same information that it looks like you have a Mercury prop.

thank you all for the replies and information, what a pity, the prop is in good condition and would have made a good spare, can this prop be made to fit a Evenrude motor,we do have a workshop manual for the Evenrude 225 VRO, maybe we need a parts manual.
