I had no spark, tested stator, timing base, power pack. Timing base had odd ohm readings and only dva voltage on two wires. I decided it was bad so replaced that and powerpack. Checked spark and would not jump spark tester but gets weak spark on plug gap but not very bright. Replaced plugs and starts and runs suprisingly well. Takes the throttle and revs good. Why is my spark so weak i have the copper wires and a plug Ngk Br8hs which i dont think is prefered. Would this have anything to do with spark , im scared under load this things going to break down.

Wrong plugs, NGK's can mask a problem, run hot and toast the engine.
You might also have the wrong plug wires.

"There are a couple of critical items you need to be aware of on these engines. First, the spark plug wires need to be the gray inductive resistor wires - these are not automotive wires. Secondly, the spark plugs should be the factory recommended QL78YC. Use of other spark plugs or wires can cause problems inside the power pack from RFI and MFI noise."
