In case anyone is interested…there are many questions around getting the raw water side of the kad32 drained and flushed with antifreeze. Not an easy thing to do the latter really. Silly set up with the raw water pump being before the sea strainer on these, as many will know. Was working on one yesterday to winterise. Although it’s easy enough to protect them from freezing by just draining the cooler on the port side, the set up around the raw water induction system means it’s not so easy to flush with AF. I managed to take the piping off between the oil cooler and the pump inlet, then adapt it to take AF in through the system. Going forward we have ordered up a section of piping with an inside diameter of 1” 3/8 (35mm) that will allow this to be done more easily going forward.
Just thought it would help others out in future. Just given the awkward method around doing so otherwise. Hope it helps !
Allan.
