10 micron filters are used for small particulate, that is why we use them on most hydrolic applications.
If I was to set up an engine with filters I think I would go with a 25 micron to pre screen all the big chunks and use a 10 micron just before the delivery point, as well make sure you have a water seperater on the 25 micron.
