Last time we had the boat out, I noticed that the gear oil looked milky. I to it to the dealer, they did a pressure check and vacuum test on it and can't find a leak anywhere. They think that a seal became loose and when they changed out the lube that the seal reseated and everything is fine.

What do you guys think? I am picking up the boat after work and we are planning on taking it on its last cruise of the season in a couple of weeks. I just want to make sure I don't have anything to worry about.

Oops forgot to add that the engine is a 1999 3.0L Mercruiser I/O on a 17' Starcraft 1710.

Thanks.

Alot of times we see the shift shaft seal leak.
only way to chk is to shift the drive by hand while under test (vacum or press)and rotating the drive shaft and prop shaft.

I would chk it again right after getting back from your trip and change before winter just in case
don't want it freezing in there.

Rich
