what are some of the symptoms of water in the fuel?went out this sunday and water skied and tube on my starboard tank(6 gals ) about an hour or so,ran out switched to the port tank about half full, and the boat all of a sudden ran like poo taking off, would eventully run awesome at throttle but wouldnt burn fuel rite away?i think it might be water cause when we take the seat off there was fuel on top off the port tank which is the same side as our ladder, coincidence?also one of the tops on the tank has a crack in it but the company said it shouldnt affect anything?what do you guys think?where going to fill the starboard tank up and try running on the port tank then switch to the other but iwas wondering what everone thought.any help, ideas would be great..........its a 1969 115 jonny on a 18' winner.fresh gas also....thanks<br /> ***1969 115 jonny 18'1971 winner***

Remove the fuel connector at the engine. With the primer bulb, punp fuel into a clear glass jar. Any water in the fuel will go right to the bottom of the jar in a very short time, and you can see it plainly.

Trying both tanks' would be a good idea, and should answer your question. A cracked fuel tank, full of fuel in the hot sun would not be a good idea. Water is a real possibility, but try both tanks.

Sometimes water will end up in float bowl and cause stumbling at higher throttle settings.

Check the O rings in the fuel line connectors. This is a common source of air leaks.
