Folk this might be a silly question but the devil is in the details. I took off my dp-sm drive off for engine removal. Now after engine repair has finished i went to install and noticed the water inlet hose harb with a single o ring. The kit that i bought to replace bellows brings 2 o-rings. Also the o-ring was on the second groove close to the back of the hose. On the first groove there is a hole facing up. I read somewhere that it is ment to face downward. I want to do install correctly since this would be my 1st volvo drive. Please enlighten.

It is a drain hole, no o-ring in that groove and pointing down.
VP states that if this hole is blocked it could prevent water from draining out when you winterize your boat and could cause damage from freezing.
