I have an old Viking 25 hp outboard. (I believe late 50's or early 60's) I think they sold them at Sears back then. It appears to be an OMC on the inside. The model # is: 25DE19V. Can anyone relate that back to an OMC model and year at all? thx :)

Re: Viking 25 HP

Sure can. One of OMC's divisions was Gale, which made outboards to be resold by various retailers. Eaton's sold them under their Viking name.

25DE19V would be a '62 25hp. I think that closely resembles the early '60s 28hp and the '56 30hp. If I'm right about that, the cylinder head ought to have 10 bolts, but no screws in it.

EDIT: Have a look at this:
http://www.old-omc.de/gale_1962/gale_1962.html
The 25hp Gale has the 30hp/28hp (585cc/35.7 CID) engine. Click my "man-next-to-house" icon for my '62 28hp. :)
