I bought a 14 ft. sailboat (fun boat) for my grandchildren. Included was a non runing motor. It is very light. ( I was told it was 1&1/2 hp.) It is all black. No markings anywhere, except for a name plate that has on it------- 6544416-----MERCURY OUTBOARDS-----Mercury Marine----Division of Brunswick Corporation.----- Product of MEXICO. It is long shaft. Seems to be in good condition BUT no fire. THE QUESTION! Is this just a piece for the junkyard, or worth fixing. I have checked the usual Mercury parts places, on line, and can find nothing for or about this motor, Any help (or enlightenment) will be greatly appreciated.
