Trying my hand at gel coat

1 more thing is the next time I'm not so sure I will go the PVA route. I think I would use gel with the wax for the last coat. Being my 1st time I don't know for sure what the right amount of PVA is so I won't know for sure till this evening if I got a good coverage of it.

I understand about all that mixing, spraying and cleaning being hard work. Bet it's a good feeling to have this job checked off the list. Don't fret too much over the PVA, as long as you got a reasonable film over the whole thing I think you'll be ok. Best part is it cleans up with warm water! Sending good thoughts for when you get home tonight and check it out.

Thanks Rick. I must say though, it looks pretty good. I hope that with how it started out that I am getting a good bond and it will stay looking good. Regardless, it's better than it was before and if the fish don't like it, too bad. I should be gliding smoothly across the water come next summer.
