I have a 1980ish 9.9 Johnson (new to me)..as part of the routine I am doing a lync and sync and getting frustrated because every time I think I have it right the very next time I try it its fubared....
fwiw I am adjusting the allen screw that determines when the throttle starts to move when advancing the throttle, I followed instructions that require the index mark on the timing cam to contact the roller and "start to move the throttle plate" at that mark.
PROBLEM IS...that there are grooves on that roller so depending on where the roller contacts the cam the timing is good or SIGNIFICANTLY LATE..SEE PICTURE FOR GROOVES..
can I replace that roller and how please? and if not then what?
