I need to replace my trim/tilt pump due to oil seeping up into the trim/tilt motor, but I can't get the old pump out. I removed the bolts and released the pressure by loosening the fill cap and backing off the manual release valve. I also drained all the fluid from the reservoir but the pump won't budge. I think it must be seized.
I would appreciate any suggestions on how to get the pump out of the housing. The pump is a round Prestolite. My engine is a 1984 Mercury 90 hp L6.
