Trim Gauage

My trim system is working correctly, but the gauge stays in the up position and never moves.How do I trouble shoot it. I have a alpha I gen II

Did you try adjusting the sender on the side of the outdrive?

you most likely need to get a new trim sender on the outdrive. They only come as a set with the trim limit switch and the trim sender. They're about 70 bucks here on iboats. Its very common for them to fail internally, often the wires on the outside of them turn to crap too...

I have Mercurisers 165 1981 and exact problem with the Gauage...

It also happened to me that my trim position (maximum up) blocks and that I cannot get it down unless someone jups on the propeler holder... anyone knows why this happened ?
