The PO installed this transducer and to me it seems too high. At any speed over an ideal I don’t get any reading on my depth finder. I currently have an old Humminbird 110 so it’s not the greatest unit to begin with. What do the experts think?

Too low if anything....going to be hard if not impossible to get decent high speed performance given the hull construction

Looks like the transducers is mounted backwards (in the bracket)

That looks like the correct orientation for a humminbird transducer.
Try moving it down or up and tilting it one way or another to see if that helps.

I agree the orientation looks OK, and the depth looks OK to me for that location. I'm wondering if you're getting bubbles from a strake or something that isn't visible in the picture. Or maybe it's too close to the starboard edge. It might do better a bit closer to the center of the boat, as long as it's not getting turbulence from the prop or another strake.
