trailer wiring problems

I bought a new boat and decided to rewire the trailer lights on it. I rewired the trailer with a four post end that hooks(through an adapter) to the 7-point on my truck. The problem is that the right blinker and brake lights work fine, but the left side will not. If I put the hazards on, the right side will blink fine and the left side will blink very dimly. I do not know what the problem is. I know the 7-point on my truck works because the truck is brand new and I have pulled rv's with it no prob.

Any ideas?

It is strange the all the lights have power when I turn on the hazards, but the left is dim.

Thanks

Re: trailer wiring problems

The dim blinking sounds like a ground problem so I would start there. Also recheck all your wiring connections. Make sure you didn?t kink a wire anywhere.
Hope this helps.

ground problem, take an extra wire, and run it to a mounting bolt on each fixture, then tie it to the white wire on the harness. that will solve all your problems.
