Look at the brake flange on the axle; 4 bolts=10" brake, 5 bolts=12" brake. 5 lug hubs are usually paired with 14" rims but someone may have up sized them to get a little more load capacity.
I have a Tie Down coupler thats 12 years old and still works fine....

Mine too I'm one of those who up sized the rims/tires to get a bit more of a safety cushion;)
While not common on boat trailers I have seen single axle cargo trailers with 5 lug 3500 lb axles, 15" rims and 205/75-15 tires.

Checked here on iBoats and no 8K Coupler.
Well, they don't have a huge selection and one of the brand choices is a TieDiwn which you want to skip anyway. 8K is easy to find including the Titan one i posted a couple posts ago.

You probably don't need 8K...7K will be fine. Your brakes are only rated for 7K total as it is assuming you have 10" drums.

Attwood makes a 7500lb coupler. I got mine on Amazon. It had a 5000lb on it but they had a clearance 7500lb that was cheaper.
