Tool question

First of all I'm sorry for so many new threads.
I found this in my boat when I was tearing it down and rebuilding it and I have no idea what it is for it may shed some light on what was done to the boat prior to me purchasing it though.

Your profile doesn't say where you live. (This is germane to the tool, actually.) Do you live in southern California? That looks like an Ab-iron, used by skin divers to harvest abalone. The letters refer to the legal size of different abalone. If you don't dive, it make a good pry-bar.

Wow really? I live in upstate NY and I'm not a diver nor do I think abalone live anywhere near here it was only used on lake Ontario so pry-bar it is then thank you mf70 I was so in the dark I thought it was an obscure boat tool haha. I'll have to update my profile thanks for the heads up on that too.
