Tilt/Trim gauge? New Merc ProXS

Forgive me if this is the wrong forum. Just picked up my new boat. I have a Merc 115 ProXS with smartcraft gauges. Under trim it always reads 0. I am assuming there is an additional sensor I need for trim to show up properly? Looking online I can't seem to find a direction as to how to get this to work or what sensors are required. The dealer I bought from is 2.5 Hours from my house. I'd rather not tow the boat all that way if I can avoid it.

I am running a Garmin 1042xsv unit with NMEA 2000 so if I can find a way to get it on that unit that would also solve the problem.

Any suggestions? If it is installed and not working what should I be looking for?

Generally trim/tilt sensors are located inside the transom clamp. They have two wires, one of which is usually grounded, right near the sensor. You should be able to see it if you have one.

they may not be standard equipment. A Merc accessory guide for you motor may have a listing for one.
