Not available in the U.S. due to liability concerns.

for what its worth, I have used a min kota tiller extension handle on a nissan 8 horse I had. I had to remove the inner rubber sleeve, but it comes right out. Not recomended for high speed, and as tohatsu guru says, there is a danger or risk.

Caution, the following method is not endorsed by anyone(including me):

Take one piece of PVC pipe of whatever length you need and split it back 5 inches. Then use three SS screw clamps to secure it to the grip on the tiller arm.

I have also seen more than a few guys use the plastic wiffle-ball bat as a cheap handle extension. (Though as has been mentioned I can't be held responsible for any mishaps.)

Take your standard plastic wiffle-ball bat and cut off the "fat part" to where it will slip over the end of your tiller handle. A roll of good electric tape or golf club wrap can be used to attach it to the handle. -YMMV.

There are also several "universal" tiller extensions available on the market. Places like Cabelas and Bass Pro offer them on their website. I've never used one but they look like they would work just fine (assuming you want something that looks a little less "bubba-made" than a PVC pipe sticking out of your $3000 outboard) haha.

I bought an extension from a Marine dealer parts shop, and have
used it often with my 18hp. The models available on the market
usually have a set screw that you need to tighten to secure the
extension to your handle. I have found that it is best to tighten it
before starting off, and then stop after a minute. Tighten the set
screw again. The motor vibration will tend to work the initial tightening
somewhat loose, and it needs a second tightening. I have not had it
come loose after the second tightening.

When using it, I can sit on a cooler chest a couple feet more forward,
and that can be advantageous in many ways. However, there is less
control overall, and therein is that potential hazard. I won't use it in
congested boating areas, and only use it in open water.

Good luck and Happy Boating!

In Florida we use a tiller handle extension called a TillerPillar. It is made by Carbon Marine. Just Google search for TillerPillar you will see how different people use it. It is made from carbon fiber and is very strong for running larger motors and light in weight.
