tight armature plate, Evinrude 18102

Hi folks,

My armature plate seems to be very tight. Its hard to rotate it.

What can i do ?

Welcome aboard!

Pull the clip that connects the armature plate control 'arm' to the vertical throttle shaft, and try to turn armature plate by hand (to rule out a sticky tiller handle). If it's indeed a sticky armature plate, pull flywheel and armature plate and brass support ring. Clean off old grease, re-lube (sparingly) w/white lithium grease, reassemble, and you should be good to go. You may want to file-up your pointset 'faces' and reset to .020" while your in there.

Oh.. and make sure your coils are positioned correctly, and not rubbing on the flywheel magnet..

I will try to grease the plate, points are already readjusted
