I have been fighting with a 1996 Mercury Force engine for 2 months now and cant seem to make it run and neither can anyone else including the Mercury dealer. An older gentlemen from Church mentioned he had an engine that may work for my boat. He is no longer using his boat and said if the engine would be a help to me I could have it. I went and checked the engine out today its a 1982 Johnson Seahorse 115 HP. The engine has not been run in over 15 years. As far as he knows its good. So I have a few questions. THANKS !

1. Can new parts be purchased from the dealer?
2.Will this engine be more dependable than the newer force
3. I would like to pay him for the engine. How much is it worth?
4.Does this engine have tilt and trim?
5 Will my quicksilver 3000 controller work on a Johnson

#1 parts are Very available.
#2 It's a good motor but do a compression test on it or pull the heads to make sure no broken rings.
#3 look around your area and see what the motor is worth
#4 it should have tilt and trim make sure you get the relays with it.
#5 NO
