This would be used on rivers & lakes in the Midwest
I now have 1965 15' Starcraft w/ 1966 40hp Evenrude boats in great shape
motor runs great. It is hard to shift. I've replaced all the gears & tired of fixing it, cleaned cables out & more than once. Was going to buy a new motor that cost about $5,000. May as well buy another boat a bit bigger, more room.

Looking for what would be some boats to look at? I like the Boston Waler but the fiberglass would be a problem ...rocks..gravel..more rocks ...
Maybe buying the new moter is the thing to do?

I'm not sure cables are the answer as it is hard to shift at the motor with the cables disconected. It takes a great deal of force to get in reverse with cable disonected or not. Forward as well .....by the way I put a ident spring in ....had machine shop drill hole this help it from poping out of gear. I wish it was just the cables. Tashadaddy thank you for the link on where to buy the cabes.
