Just bought over the winter a 1995 180 signature Sea Ray and sold my 1984 Sportcraft 175 with 140hp merc. HAd a lot of fun and a few headaches restoring the 84 Sportcraft but it was a solid boat for first boat owned but got tired of tinkering with it so i sold it and upgraded.

1978 Starcraft SS w/ 70hp Evinrude... I was at the local evinrude dealer asking some rivet repair questions, when he told me that some "crazy" people were still using 20 year old aluminum bass boats covered in marine-tex. I almost said "mine is 30 years old" but there were alot of other people in earshot.

We got an '81 Yazoo, an '87 Alumacraft, a '74 Lund, and a Sea King we are assuming is from the 50s - early 60s.

As far as motors run, We have a 1936, 1948, 1949, 1955, 1969, 1971, 1974, 1975, 1979, and a 1988. Hopefully less fairly soon. Those two electric shift motors are in my way.

My oldest is a '64 Applyby and the youngest was launched in 2000. I can't see trading a good working partner just for a newer model. I guess that is why my marriage will last a lifetime.

It seems with times getting tighter more and more prople will be holding on to that old boat they own. My question is How old is the boat that you own currently?

I had an 83 Chaparral 187 XLC with the Merc 470. It was a great little boat but I upgraded this year to the one in my sig.
