Re: Teleflex steering evinrude to yamaha

ok so i already figured out i need a steering guide attachment, i think im gona go ahead and just replace the steering cable because the nut to take it off has corroded really bad. Any help on finding that steering guide would be appreciated tho.

post the model number, never seen a 70 without a tilt tube for the steering.

Re: Teleflex steering evinrude to yamaha

was no ELTD for the US market. was an ETLG and a TLRD.
but ALL US market 70 HP engines had the tilt tube.
it may be capped off with plastic nuts.
a pic about now would help.
the 70 two stroke was a US import from 84 to 2001.

you are right sir they were just metal caps. But double checked and the serial # tag is stamped 70 ELTD
