Dragged out the 2008 DF6 from the back of the shed for a run. Had to put some new fuel in as it was pretty dry in the tank. Crank, crank, crank ..... crank. Nothing. Changed settings on throttle and choke to all combinations. Still nothing. Spark plug looks good. There is fuel in the bulb that is in the fuel line. Can anyone give me a clue as to where to start? It has always started in the past after a few pulls even when idle for many months.

check compression and then carb cleaning if compression is good is where I would start.
That old gas and oil mix leaves a nasty residue when it evaporates
and rust on shiny parts inside motor is bad on compression and bearings

Carb plugged, Make sure to pull jets and clean thoroughly. Next time you put motor away for longer than 2-3 weeks drain fuel bowl. New clean fuel when restarting.

tried again this morning use a few squirts of Start Ya Bastard into the air intake. The motor kicked over for about 5 seconds then died. Does this indicate a fuel line problem or could it still be a carny needing a clean?
