Suzuki 200 Hp EFI 1998

I have a hole burned through one of my pistons.I have always used good fuel and oil. It is a fishing boat and not abused.What could cause this, and what is the best remedy. Would this be covered by an extended warranty?

sounds like an injector became plugged or failed

Just had this happen to my '87 200EXTG in April. I was running wide open, crossed another boat's wake, turned left & 10 seconds later the #6 piston got a hole punched in it?!?!<br /> I believe it was because I hadn't changed the water fuel separator after sitting her for the winter (but I have no proof). <br /> Anyway, I have no warranty so I just ate the cost of a repower.<br /> I'd love to hear what board members think caused these blowouts. I definitely don't want to have this hapen again.<br />- IvanB
