Starter

[Old Fish]

Starter makes loud grinding sound but does not turn engine over. Engine will turn over by hand. Has anybody ever taken a starter out of a 1980 Sea Ray 270 Sedan Bridge. Starboard engine 350 mer cruiser. And can they tell me if you have to take off exhaust manifold to get to it.

If you can pull the manifold and get to it, then that is what you have to do. On a few boats, I had to pull the engine to change the starter. Design engineers know noting of repair and maintenance and could care less.

It's ain't the motor,...
It's too much Boat thrown in around it...

Chevy starters are the Easiest to change....
