I added a new honda 9.9hp kicker motor to my 1992 Starcraft SFM 170. I mounted it where the previous owner had a kicker plate installed and used the EZ Steer setup to control steering. When I stand toward the rear of the boat water now comes in from the open drain hole on the port side transom where the kicker is mounted. I plan on moving the 2 batteries from the rear to infront of the consoles to redistribute the weight. Boat ran fine before kicker and planed out nicely now it sticks its nose in the air and does not plane. I have both a whale tale and trim tabs that I removed previously from boat that I plan on reattaching. My question is - am I spinning my wheels here or will this actually work?
