Re: Starcraft parts needed!

Before we shoot the interrior, I decided to replace a couple of small parts.

The Transom is installed!

The Transom is installed!

Finally got stars aligned, weather permitting, other demands at bay, and got my self laminated, 1.5" treated plywood transom boards replaced. This took a bit of clamping to lay it up , but now it's done and installed, I can finish my floor replacement.

Does anyone else have the heart to tell him about the PT? I don't :(

You sure opened up that door. I hear that pressure treated wood eats aluminum.

Remember when you wrote this....

I will also be changing out the transom, which doesn't appear to be difficult, but seems like will be lots of time...

PT= not good

Bummer Bob, but piece of cake now you what it takes...if you leave it, it will eat away at the aluminum...use standard exterior ply and seal it/paint it, then it should last for years and years

Re: Starcraft parts needed!

We should have a place to post pics of whatever parts we have to offer to the Starcraft cult...I mean club.

I have the original bow light, etc.

I agree. Maybe one like the craigslist thread. Just go there and say what's available. Moderators, is this within the policies of Iboats? They would not be losing money as they do not sell such parts.

Absolutely not. We're pushing it with the CL thread. If someone wants to set something up off-site somewhere we can probably link to it but there's no way a swap thread is going to happen on iboats. Sorry guys.

Holy crap....I just realized this thread wasn't even in the SC section. There's DEFINITELY no way there's going to be a general swap section.

By treated, I meant my 7 layers of hybrid aerospace plastic resin (designed for aluminum airframe applications).

I didn't mention the coating because most folks just can't afford it or not justify the cost.

What is a bummer anyway?

Is it a durogatory finding of fact, or a display of our age?
