I have Force 85HP from 1988. I would like to connect tachometer, speedometer and maybe temperature gauge. I have all gauges but have no idea how to connect them to the engine.
Could anyone help me and give me step by step instuction?

Thank you very much,

Re: Speedometer, tachometer

The tach will connect one wire on the motor just find a wiring diagram, or often you can connect right to the stator. Some have that wire at the control box if you have one. The speedo only has a hose to the pitot on the transom, and wires to lighting power for dash gauges (as all lighted gauges will). The temp gauge goes into the engine block, where depends on the engine. I know my older 85 force has a plug on top of the block I am going to use for water pressure, but not sure that is for temp. Often temp is more near the head. Some already have an overheat sensor and you may have to replace that for your gauge. I would run a pressure gauge and the overheat, but that is up to you.

Force motors use the purple wire for the factory tach, should be able to use it and make sure you have a 20pole compatible tach
