Hi G Dane<br /><br />Yes you are correct I have a lot of fogging oil in all cylinders. <br />I am thinking along the same lines as you, but I don't want to be naively optimistic. <br />Could I have been lucky enough to have noticed the lack of spark on #5 before too much cylinder wall/piston damage was done? <br />I will try swapping coil wires around after looking at the service manual to see if I can figure out how to do it. Is there one coil per cylinder?

Merc90HPnewbie<br /><br />No spark to a cylinder doesnt ruin it right away.<br />If some damage happened, i think you would have a low cylinder, even with the fogging oil in. Not everything is horror stories. Your scope will make it possible to see if there are scores or aluminium deposit on #5 cylindewalls, but I doubt it. Try to solve the spark problem. Track the charge wires ( from stator to coil ) and see if there is a possibility to swap. I think loosing only one cylinder should be plugwire broken charge wire or coil.
