I bought 8 new NGK Plugs number BR6FS for my 1988 v8 350 mercruiser. The guy at the marina looked in the book and said .40 for the gap. When I pulled out the old ones (same plug) they were all at .30 can anyone tell me what is correct ?

Thanks in advance

Ayuh,... I'd have guessed .035,... .040 sounds reasonable...

Bond O is correct it is a .035 gap for this engine. As a matter all of the gaps are at this for all engine sizes according to the shop manual.
The plugs they call for are ac MR 43T's.
