Does anyone on this forum have experience with a gasoline additive called small engine gumout, reportedly it will prevent gas in a stored engine from gumming up and causing a need to clean the carb. How about it? :p

Re: small engine gumout

It works, but use Sta-Bil. It is the best in my opinion, even tho my two outboards run like s*** with it. So I limit my usage to premixed gas that I know won't be used in less than 6months. I have had to use it on quite a few engines durring extended down time (boat restoration, auto engine rebuild ect). I try to run the tank it is in dry before refilling it with fresh fuel, because of the poor performance on it.But I've tried STP's fuel extender, and the fuel still went unstable in less than a year. Sta-Bil garunteees a year.
