Skeeter Starfire and Mercury 115 HP

I have a 1983 Skeeter Starfire 115 with a 1983 Mercury 115 HP...Since Skeeter is owned by the Yamaha Corporation and Yamaha is now the number one motor for Skeeter Boats I am just curious if this was a likely combination from the factory in 1983.

Back then Skeeter used just about whatever. My '85 SF-175 has an Evenrude 150. I saw another SF-175 (didn't ask what year) on the Rez today, and it had a Mercury 150.
