Side control handle removal

Im trying to remove my controls on my 97 Four Winns and cant get the handle off. I cant find any instructions or manual. Heres a link to what it looks like

Remove the button that controls the throttle only when shifting. Next pull the shifter in full reverse and slide in 1/8" allen wrench at the base of the handle and remove the set screw. Now pull out the control handle.

Sometimes you need to disconnect the throttle cable at the carb so the handle can rotate far enough to get to the set screw.
