Re: Show Yer Boat II

Little different kind of boat -- Jersey speed skiff, 16', lapstrake, flat bottom, 350cid inboard, built 1969, raced 1970 (Nat'l champion that year).

I don't know why, but I always thought I had to have a Jersey Speed Skiff. They'll beat you to pieces, but they are, without a doubt, a really neat boat. I never got one and they aren't very practical, so maybe my wisdom kicked in at the right time.

1998 Rothbilt 18'....

Ahhh, Rothbilt! You don;t see those timeless classic Downeast lines in Texas. I have been pondering recently about buying one. They build a 16 Nantuckett Skiff now and, I believe a 19. I would think that they are a mighty nice boat. Curiously, could your 18 be powered with a 90?

1985 Grayling, 18', 2.3L Ford with Hamilton 771 jet pump. Not much to look at, but simple and indestructible.

Capt'n Chris - The Jersey speed skiffs are a bit of a rough ride we'll say :D, but there isn't anything like them, a hell of a lot of fun, not the most practical I will admit. When you back them down from 70 to about 20 they are still quite a capable and reasonably sea kindly boat (like the Jersey sea skiffs are know for). I am planning on putting the 'traditional' forward cockpit w/ bench seat back in this one to make it a bit more practical.

ok I am new here and new to boating, this is my 1987 Sea Ray 19' Seville Bow Rider it is powered by a 3.7 165 hp Merc with a Alpha 1 outdrive, I picked up Labor Day weekend, looks to be a well cared for boat by older couple. I want to do some TLC and minor things this winter

Definitely rugged! Not custom made, but I haven't seen any others like it. Grayling was a small manufacturer in Alaska, only built boats for a few years in the late 80's. I believe the builder continued under other names, but I'm not sure. Very similar idea to Almar, double aluminum hull, diamond steel deck. I'm in eastern Washington state, lots of aluminum jets here, but most are wider, bigger engines, and built in WA, OR, and ID.

1995 Monterey Montura 210 5.7L Alpha 1 250hrs
Picked it up in early September and have been out 6 times already. Awesome, well built boat. Does great in choppy water and pulls great.

Nice Lund Woodrow. I'm working on converting a Starcraft SS into a similar fishing machine. I'm afraid your tow vehicle is over kill though and we'll be forced to ask you to trade it with one of the members who are trying to tow a cabin cruiser with a mini-van :)

Here's my clunker.. She's a little rough now, but I have some plans for her. She's a 20ft 1979 Sea Ox 200D with a 200hp Johnson (note: in the first picture, you can see my other POS! )

First, Second, and Third Boats. First went back to my dad. Second if for Sale. And I hope the Third lasts longer than the other 2 did.
