Shop Cost 98 Merc 9.9 lower unit seals/pump

Can someone give me a rough estimate on what it should cost to replace the lower unit seals and water pump on a 98 Merc 9.9 4 stroke? It has a little water in the gear case. Motor is a like new kicker and never been in the salt water.

If you do it yourself, figure $50-75 for parts and about 3 hours of time. A shop will cost you a bit more for parts and you pay shop labor rate for the same approximate 3 hours

Please get a service manual, and do it your self, our impeller cost just $ 13 bucks at I-boats.com. You need to change your impeller yearly, may as well start doing it yourself now. And The aggravation of taking your boat to and from the shop every time

There is ongoing maintance and winterizing every year as long as you own the motor, its easy and fast to do, youtube explains everything well, plus you have the forum, for the hard stuff.
