I'm trying to find the genuine service manual for my 87 OMC cobra 4.3L The only numbers I have are the serial #TO449247 and model#983842. All the service manuals say "for JX series, or AMD series" How do I tell what series mine is? Is it a TO series???

Re: Service manual info

HI, the model number you are looking for could be in a couple locations, look on the thermostat housing, or the valve covers. there should be a tag on it the number should start with 432 or 434 then two letters and then three letters- ARY, FTS, ARJ, SRC, SRY. So you should see a tag tha reads something like 432 AM ARY or 434 AM FTC. The letters above are for a 1987 model Cobra drives. HOpe this helps ;)

Re: Service manual info

Thanks for the reply, I've looked on the Thermostat housing and found no tag ( the heads were redone so I'm thinking the previous owners machine shop tossed the tag) I will however check the valve covers to be sure. Thanks again
