I'm about to start negotiating on a Formula 252ss, and need to find a surveyor that services the Vermont area. I'm most interested in he engine/outdrive/peripherals as well as the integrity of the hull/transom. There are only 2 SAMs accredited surveyors in VT (and one no longer does such work). Perhaps I should use a good marina? Any tips or advise? Thank you.

You could try Shelburne Shipyard as they have techs certified by The American Boat Builders and Repair Association (ABBRA). I used to work for the family.

Send Jim Russo an email at russosurveying@gmail.com He performed the survey on my Formula 330 SS last fall on Lake Champlain. He did a very thorough job, but if you are looking to have the entire engine/drives looked at he will recommend you contact a certified mechanic to look them over as well. He will do a full check of everything from fluids, temp, RPM, etc. If you want more information, send me a PM.
