Our local harbor Is strapped for cash and is looking for new revenue generating ideas. Because our harbor has several acres of unused land, I thought it might be a great idea to have a sailboat storage area where the boat owners do not have to un-rig their sailboats between launchings. Also because of fuel prices, inland owners would not have to haul there boats back and forth to the coast for a day sail. Does anyone have any idea what storage spaces like these would be worth? I would greatly appreciate any feedback. Thanks.

Re: sailboat storage

Around here it is pretty common to dry sail BUT only at big dollar private clubs

They generally have a beach area for small boats and a crane for bigger boats as there are many fleets of J24,Stars, ect , ect that dry sail

I have seen places like [FONT=Verdana, Helvetica]Marina Del Rey in Ca with big parking lots full of dry sailed boats

We get a big tide change here on the north shore of long island which limits the launch times of bigger boats to high tide
