I am replacing my rug and I am at a lost for the best glue.
I see some stuff at home Depot and other at the same price on amazon
My question is since the carpet has a rubber or vinyl backing does that make a difference.
The 2 are

Roberts 6700-1 1 Gallon Indoor/Outdoor Carpet/Artificial Turf Adhesive or

Henry, W.W. Co. 12185 12185 GAL #663 Carp Adhesive Beige, Gallon

Don't ever put a rug in a boat. It will accelerate the rotting of the boat's innards.

Use marideck instead. They have an adhesive that is designed for the job.

I converted to vinyl a while back, so I don't remember using anything with rubber backing. I know I don't like carpet any more, but even if that were not an issue, anything with rubber backing doesn't sound very appealing.

I would add that while you have the deck stripped, I believe it's a REALLY good idea to use 1/2" spacers under all the hand rails and bracing to get it up off the floor. Makes maintenance SO much easier!

Any indoor-outdoor mastic will work fine. I use the stuff from the home despot.

Obviously the latex kind will need dry weather for a while after installation. The oil based mastic will set up in damper weather.
