Hi Gents, I just picked up my first used Merc 4.7, 2007 vintage; same problem occurred as yours as I started getting short RPM drop outs for no reason, wondering if out of gas, noticed fuel gauge went to full when last I saw was near 1/2 tank. No alarm, guessing disconnected by former owner; been doing a lot of that so far. Got to dock and tank was half full. My thought before reading your forum was to go ahead and check ignition, distributor, plugs and change fuel filter. Assuming both of you resolved your issues? Thanks
