Thats my kind of boat, keep it simple. You should get a lot of enjoyment out of it. My MERCURY/ MARINER MANUAL says that a 10 1/4 by 14 prop would work for you. Will give 25 to 34 MPH. no difference if it is SS or alumn. Can understand the low gunnels. Ended up putting a 40 johnson on our MACKEE and wound up using it twice. Wife was uncomfortable being so close to the water.
Naturally your call on installing railings. Railing get in the way for us since we normally beach our boat and board off the bow or sides. One question, I do not see any holes in the floor. Is that were the seat is normally mounted?
Got up to 72 today, cold snap is over. regards FRED
