I was thinking of replacing the thermostats on my 88spl because of the salt water I use it in.
Is is pretty easy to replace or should I just take it in? I have a clymers manual which say's that
the cover is by the exhaust but I can't find it. Thanks, Rodney

rk2fish,

Do a search on this board for this subject.

Yes, you can do it. The thermostats are located on the back of the engine between the cylinder banks.

Look at the bottom of each head and you will see two large hoses that run from the heads to a manifold. That is where your thermostats are.

It can be done, but it is tedious.
