Removed pintripes- left a white stripe behind

I used a heat gun to remove the old pinstripes. I guess when the boat was new the colour was white. I have tried polishing with a porter cable machine and meguires# 3 but I can't see to get rid of the stripes.

If you want it to match, you'll need to sand the rest of the hull to remove the discolored surface. Try a small area with 600 grit to see how deep you need to go to get back to white, then buff it and see if it's what you want.
