I just purchased a 2003 MerCruiser 4.3L. Serial#: 0M047305.

I'd like to install a remote oil drain kit.

Does anyone know the drain plug thread size?

Thanks.

Don't bother, those things are more trouble than they are worth. And they are extremely slow to drain. Pump it out through the dipstick tube instead.

From what I'm finding it is a 1/2-20

That said it appears your dip stick goes into the drain plug hole, and at one time it also had a hose available for it. Now if your boat has the 1/2 drain plug which screws in, the hose will not go out thru it

Mine works fine, I start draining it when I take the boat out in October and it is usually finished draining by May ;) . Nah, I usually let it drain overnight, works fine.
