reed block

I have a small chip out of 2 reeds in one block assembly on my 175hp will them chips affect it from running properly? Bob :

If the chips are in a place that keep them from stopping backflow out of the crankcase yes, but any time you see a chipped reed it should be replaced. Also it's possable that the chips may have damaged the rings or worse when they went thru the engine
