red plug year span

could anyone tell me from what year to what year the controls with the red plug will fit. I may buy another v4 and want to stay with my controls since it would be easier and I have spare parts. thanks, k....kev.........

1995 models were the last for the Big Red Plug, 1996 started the duetsh (sp?) connectors. I'm not sure what year the red plug started, sometime in the mid - late 70s I think. Adapter cables are available to use red plug controls with 1996 and newer motors.

The red plug was used from 1973 to 1995.

Im all about the red plug man. Hate the newer style.
